The Lantern Festival, one of the traditional Chinese festivals, takes place on the 15th day of the first month of the lunar calendar. The 15th day of the first month is also known as the "Shang Yuan Festival". The festival has been celebrated since ancient times with the festive custom of watching lanterns.

On the fifteenth day of the first month of the lunar calendar, traditional folk hang coloured lanterns, set off fireworks and later write riddles on strips of paper and stick them on the colourful lanterns for people to guess. The riddles add to the festive atmosphere and showcase the ingenuity of ancient working people and their desire for a better life.
Lion Dance
The lion dance is an excellent Chinese folk art and is used to celebrate the Lantern Festival or gatherings.
