The lamp is one of the great inventions in human history, and the advent of the electric light has given a major boost to human civilization.

The first electric light to begin using was the incandescent lamp, invented by Thomas Edison in 1879. The incandescent lamp is a first-generation electric light source, with a luminous efficiency of around 13%, good colour rendering, continuous spectrum and ease of use. However, incandescent lamps are gradually being phased out of the market because of their relatively low energy conversion efficiency.

As society developed, fluorescent lamps (daylight lamps) began to appear in the 1930s. In 1974, a phosphor consisting of red, green and yellow light appeared, and its use as a raw material for fluorescent lamps resulted in significant energy savings. Fluorescent lamps are long-lasting, have a high luminous efficiency, have a large light area and can also be adjusted to different light colours. However, the fluorescent lamp is very power hungry and most of the electricity is consumed in heat.

Then high-pressure sodium and metal halide lamps were introduced, which are known as the third generation of lighting sources. High pressure sodium lamps are widely used because of their high luminous efficiency, low power consumption, long life, high fog transmission and lack of rusting.

Nowadays, LED lighting is a widely used semiconductor light source, which has broken the traditional way of constructing light sources and is a huge light revolution that has started again after the electric light bulb. Applied to explosion-proof series luminaires and general lighting series luminaires, mainly white LED singles, LED integration and SMD as a supplement, breaking the limitations of the traditional lighting industry. Widely used for its energy efficiency, low energy consumption, high luminous efficiency, long life and robustness.

LEDs first originated in 1961 when Texas Instruments developed LEDs made of indium gallium phosphide, which emit light in the near-infrared wavelength range. The red light emitting diode developed by Kiwi in 1962 was not widely used and was only used as an indicator light due to its poor conversion efficiency and the fact that the wavelength of light emitted was far from the visible range. In 1991, HP and Toshiba developed a green light-emitting diode that could not be combined into a white light source using the three-colour principle because of the lack of blue LEDs. It was not until 1993 that Japan's Shuji Nakamura successfully developed a blue light-emitting diode with high brightness.

Compared to traditional fluorescent lamps and incandescent bulbs, LED lights are not only small, environmentally friendly and energy efficient, but also have a lifespan of up to 100,000 hours.
