United States: The United States is the birthplace of May Day, but it does not celebrate International Labor Day on May 1. Labor Day in the United States is celebrated on the first Monday in September.

Japan: Labor Day falls on "Golden Week".
Thailand: Thailand first enacted labor regulations in 1932, and subsequently established May 1 each year as National Labor Day to honor hard-working workers.
Africa
Egypt: Known as Labor Day on May 1, is considered a paid holiday. Traditionally, the President of Egypt presides over the official May Day celebrations in Cairo.
South Africa: In South Africa, a public holiday on May 1 every year since 1994.
