Needle flame test is one of the tests in the safety test, we will generally test incoming materials to ensure the fire resistance of the materials used in the product. In the production of LED downlights and spotlights, the needle flame test is an essential safety test.
The needle flame test is suitable for various electrical products in use due to fault conditions, such as fault current flowing through the leakage path, overheating of components or parts, poor contact, etc., which may cause flames, and it may shoot to nearby for parts. The needle flame test is to simulate the small flames generated inside the product under fault conditions, and use simulation technology to assess the fire hazard.
The test is performed by testing whether the product ignites or whether it can be extinguished within a specified holding time (30 seconds) after ignition.
The specific steps of ADAYO lighting LED downlight material needle flame test are as follows:
1. Open the gas cylinder, supply gas to the burner, and turn on the power switch.
2. The burner is placed vertically along the axis and the combustion is started by pressing the "Burning operation button". The height of the combustion flame is adjusted to 12mm±1mm.
3. Press the "burn stop" button to stop the combustion and tilt the burner with the adjusted flame height by 45°.
4. Fix the sample to be tested and adjust the position between the test sample and the burner.
5. Set the burn time, burn count, press the "burn start" button for burn test.
6. Press "burn stop", open the air extraction for equipment extraction. Then turn off the power switch, turn off the air supply switch.
In the LED downlight needle flame test should pay attention to.:
1. To avoid the test sample dripping molten material or flaming material falling into the combustion tube, the burner can be tilted 45° with the vertical during the test.
2. Adjust the burner tilt 45 °, the distance between the top center of the burner and the sample during the test is 8 mm±1 mm.
3. The burner consists of a tube with a length of at least 35mm, an orifice diameter of 0.5mm ± 0.1mm and an outside diameter of no more than 0.9mm.
