It ensures that manufacturers and importers (EU) responsible for placing products in the European Union only need to comply with a set of rules within the European Union.
The new ERP ecodesign regulations and energy efficiency labeling regulations will be enforced on September 1st, 2021. From the date of enforcement of this regulation, all products that newly apply for ERP must comply with the requirements of the new regulations, and the label must also comply with the latest requirements.
New requirements of ecodesign regulations:
1. The regulations stipulate the information that should be reflected on the product body, packaging, website, and technical documentation.
2. It is required that the light and the independent controller should be able to be replaced by the consumer, if it cannot be replaced, the reason needs to be explained.
3. Member States need to supervise market products in accordance with the provisions of Appendix 4.
4. The regulations give a sampling inspection tolerance, this tolerance is only applicable to the judgment during the random inspection, and shall not be used for the technical documentation and compliance judgment.
New requirement of energy labeling regulations:
1. The effective date is September 1, 2021. After the new regulations come into effect, (EU) No 874/2012 will be invalidated immediately.
2. The energy efficiency rating is updated from A++ to E, and updated to A to G. And the calculation method of energy efficiency rating is updated.
3. The regulations give the scope of product control, exemption clauses, and a transition period for the old and new labels.
4. The regulations give requirements on the lamp body, packaging, product technical documents, and product information sheets.
5. The regulations define the obligations of manufacturers, distributors, and internet platforms, as well as the format of labels (including internet sales).
6. Member states need to supervise market products.
7. The regulations give a sampling inspection tolerance, this tolerance is only applicable to the judgment during the random inspection, and shall not be used for the technical documentation and compliance judgment.
ERP ecodesign regulations supervision and sampling inspection process requirements (Member State Supervision and Sampling Inspection Process):
1. Take a sample.
2. Verify that the claimed value performance in the technical file is not better than the actual measured value.
3. Verify that the declared value meets the requirements of this regulation.
4. Select ten lights or three control devices.
5. Use the prescribed table to judge the measured average value.
6. Any of the above non-compliance member states shall notify the EU and other member states immediately.
